Reflection
My artwork portrays Mother Nature's hope to combat this ongoing crisis of pollution, climate change, and unintended catches. The three panels altogether illustrate a story of a group of fish that encounter peculiar hooks in the ocean. The fish, however, realize that the hooks are lethal and try to seek help from Mother Nature. Mother Nature has no feasible solution and can only wait for human beings to eradicate harmful acts against the marine ecosystem. After many years of suffering, the fish encounter the last tree remaining on earth. This tree symbolizes the last chance for human beings to act on climate change. Through research, I came across an article which explained the devastating consequences of unintended catches and climate change. These changes and actions are creating vulnerable biodiversity and are further interrupting the overall wellbeing of the earth and human beings. I hope that this representation of our future can contribute to raising awareness about our actions destroying the beautiful nature we take for granted.
