Reflection

I was inspired by the unbearable heat and wildfires in Vancouver last summer. One evening, the dust from the forest fire was floating in the sky, which linked with the dim sky and turned everything into a kind of gray orange. There was no sound around, not even the wind, showing a strange stagnation under the newly lit street lamp. I was deeply impressed by the irritating temperature and feared that it might be more extreme in the future. Thus, I had the idea of a firefighter giving up on saving the forest but cooking for dinner. It expresses the optimism of the firefighter living in the moment, but also hints at the inevitable outcome that he faces.
