Reflection
With the new and evolving world around us, many forget the harsh struggles that nature has to face in order to survive within a fully metropolitan society. Mother Nature sits, surrounded by little wildlife that slowly starts to die off from trash and human activities. She grasps the preserved piece of nature that stabilizes the fickle balloon representing our planet Earth. Losing our connection to nature would mean losing the health of our world entirely. The prolonged dangers of urbanization would inevitably impact the wellness of our connection to nature. As depicted, tree stumps would fill the fields, dead fish would flood the beaches, trash would be dumped freely, and urbanization would continue spreading. The creation of civilization attacks nature’s homes, warning us that my artwork may not be a fantasy, but an inevitable consequence. If we succumb to urbanization and lose our connection to nature, the balloon clasped in Mother Nature’s hands will pop, marking nature’s final stand.
