Reflection
My song is in multiple different languages, but mostly Asian and English, because of the huge Pacific Garbage Patch that everyone knows about that serves practically as a landmark for pollution, which is what everyone associates climate change with. I decided to do my song in multiple different languages to show that climate change is an international problem, not just an American or European problem. If we all work together to stop climate change internationally, then maybe we can make a difference. The song I used is based on “Whalien 52” by BTS—the song is about not being heard no matter how loud you yell or scream. The 52-hertz whale couldn’t be heard by any other animal or whale, so they couldn’t be understood, which is what I feel like sometimes—invisible. With climate change, we can use this big issue to be heard, to be seen and make a difference. We need to be heard on the issue of climate change, and I hope that we will soon have our victory song ring through everyone’s ears. We can change.
