Reflection

Before this project, I went on a trip to Bali, where I saw several sea turtles, which inspired me to come to this project. Although the turtle I saw was pretty healthy, there are still turtles that are troubled by the pollution that humans have done to the environment... In addition, global warming and pollution have always been problems for the ocean, especially the coral reefs. They are significantly affected by climate change and pollution, causing lots of them to turn white and die out… Therefore, some white coral reefs are delineated in the picture, but there are also some healthy coral reefs and some under conservation to form a clear contrast. The main characters of this painting are the human and the turtle portrayed in the picture above. The main character is trying to save the turtle from the fishing net entangled in its body. The main message that this artwork is trying to convey is how people are trying to save the ocean from further destruction, while there aren't enough people there to clean up everything, so we should ask more people to help and join the process of "cleaning the ocean." (and to stop throwing trash randomly.)  Beyond individual actions like recycling garbage, there should be more signs warning tourists to clean up their trash after hanging out in a place, and there should be more volunteers or organizations to clean up the beaches regularly. There could also be some careers that are there to save sea animals and clean up the ocean floor…
