Water is very important to every living being. Most of the water on Earth comes from the ocean, and the ocean is in danger. When I first saw the words ‘Ocean Awareness’, I thought about how climate change is affecting the ocean. On the first thought, they didn’t seem to relate much, but then I noticed that global warming is actually causing a lot of damage to the ocean. To show this in my artwork, I decided to exaggerate the idea. I imagined the ocean on Earth as a teapot with water that was boiling on the ‘pollution fire’ caused by no-other than human activity. In the teapot, the once beautiful home of the marine animals, the coral reef, is bleached because of the abnormal temperature. Of course, people knew what was happening, and some were willing to help try ‘lifting up’ the pot from the ‘fire’. But they struggle with lifting it up because there’s not enough people who try, maybe even for the slightest. To succeed at ‘lifting it up’, or saving the ocean faster or easier, we need all the help we can get.
