Reflection

The ocean is not one being, but many. All the creatures that live in the ocean are part of it. I drew the mermaid to represent all of the creatures, to show their sadness. The pearl she desperately clutches in her hand represents hope - hope that one day the ocean will not be polluted anymore, and returned to its majestic form. All of the sea creatures are swimming towards that hope, amongst the pollution, some dying as they swim. That represents the passage of time. I hope, I wish, that one day the ocean will be pure again, and that's when all the sea creature will have finally reached their journey to the pearl.
