Project Description: My website contains five pages, including a home page, a my connection page, a point absorbers page, a my research page, and a citations page. The user can interact with my website to learn about renewable ocean energy and my connection to the ocean. A rather unique part of my website was an energy calculator, which I made so that the users could see how much energy a wave contains by comparing it to real-life tools people use every day.

As a child, I had a strong connection to the ocean from just playing on the beach, and this connection further developed with my education in STEM. When I first learned about renewable ocean energy, I instantly fell in love with the idea. To my surprise, not many people knew about it. Seeing this competition inspired me to try and put my connection to the ocean on a website to inform and maybe even inspire others. Aside from my love of science, I also had a passion for photography, so instead of just using stock images, I used photographs I took myself to put on the website. All the photos are taken by me other than the statistical graph from irena. These photos have a strong meaning to me, and I hope that they help viewers to connect with nature and the ocean as I do. I decided to add an energy calculator because I sometimes see energy as an abstract concept, and being able to connect the number to appliances or electronics we use every day helped me to see how much power waves have and what they can do. I hope that viewers of my artwork are inspired by what ocean energy can bring and do deeper research into other less developed renewable energy harvesting methods.
