Reflection

My hometown is a coastal place. The majority of my countrymen are dependent on oceans for a livelihood. Tourism, fishing and related industry is the chief income source. From my childhood I have loved visiting the beaches, collecting sea shells and making sand castles. Our academics cover a lot about various forms of pollution and mitigation measures. I was not aware of the fact that human actions are impacting the seas and oceans. We believe that oceans are vast and our activities are not going to affect them. However, the carbon emissions from human activities are also affecting the oceans. Yes, it is a matter of concern and we need to start acting NOW.
