What inspired me: I was inspired to choose oil spills as my topic to work on as I have great sympathy for the animals that are affected by the oil and I despise big oil companies’ carelessness that cause so many animals suffering. Being an animal enthusiast and an environmentalist I am concerned by such unnecessary harm to nature.
How I created it: I first drew the seagull on a piece of paper then I scanned it in to the computer. I opened the picture with Adobe Photoshop and added the background. When I was done with the first frame I saved it and then used the same image for the second frame but adjusted it by adding some oil creeping in and so on for the other frames. This long process was repeated 53 times to create a total of 53 frames just to create a 13 seconds of animation. The frames were all grouped together and made into ‘GIF’ format.
What I aim to achieve: I hope that the animation will show people how oil spill’s affect animals and make them disappear.
