Once the Ocean, Now a Dump
Amy Wang
Winchester, MA
2019 Right Whales, Senior, Art (2014 – 2023)
Reflection

Through exploring these whales, I have learned about the factors affecting these whales. Though recycling plastic is not one of the direct factors, it contributes greatly due to the pollution created as a result of producing new products that could have been made of recycled materials. The pollution in turn, affects climate change, which is a factor that directly affects North Atlantic Right Whales. Another issue these whales face is entanglement in fishing gear, which is often thrown into the sea or abandoned in the sea. After working on this piece, I will try to acquire more knowledge about recyclable materials as well as spread the knowledge.
