Reflection

I am interested in the arts as a way to express myself and pursue my passion at the same time. Art can open people’s eyes to new angles of seeing things by portraying something in an original way. Everyone has felt entranced by a piece of art at least a few times in their lives. I also think that art tells stories about the artist. It doesn’t matter what the form of art is, the way that each artist creates their art is unique and special. I think this kind of individuality behind a piece contributes to its beauty. Lastly, in my opinion, doing art is a form of catharsis. During stressful periods, making art helps me to manage some of that stress. My message to the viewers of my artwork is that the climate crisis is very real, and steadily getting worse. If we choose to ignore it, then we will be just like the people in the painting; wearing happy smiles and failing to see the destruction happening around us.
