Reflection

For my project I really wanted to write a song that had an overall positive message of hope. I think it is really easy to become overwhelmed and pessimistic when learning about the science of climate change, and this can cause a lot of people to shut down and refuse to believe it. Instead of painting a really dire picture, I instead wanted to provide some simple solutions and strategies that individuals could do to combat it. This is also why the melody shifts from a sadder melody to a more optimistic and urgent melody, because I wanted to write a song which was realistic in its interpretation of the gravity of the situation, but which could also inspire people to change. I chose to write a song because it is the easiest way that I am able to convey emotions to somebody, so my goal was to make it touch a lot of people while at the same time remaining accessible for everyone in all of their perspectives.
