Reflection

This piece is a digital self portrait and it’s meant to represent my personal experience with climate change. Sometimes we can get so consumed by technology that we don’t even pay attention to our surroundings anymore which is why I represented the this years prompt with a girl (me) sitting on her bed on her phone while the world outside her is going up into flames but she doesn’t seem to notice because she’s so drawn to her phone. We’re often oblivious to serious things like climate change and a lot of people think it’s not even real. But if we keep these actions of ignorance up we’re going to end up like this piece, having our lives revolve around technology while our world is suffering because of our actions.
