Reflection

Clean water is just a turn away for me. Unfortunately, this is not the case for everyone around the world. The gap in water access and use between the upper class and lower class is very big. Some people living in developing countries use dirty water in everyday life because they have no choice. We create factories in low-income countries and mass produce products and food. Toxins from factories and farming flow into our waters. I have the privilege of having filtered water but 3 in 10 people around the world do not have access to clean water. This is a very shocking number. These factories created for our greed and convenience are creating too much pollution. Making people aware of these crucial issues all over the world is the purpose of my painting. The man in the middle of my painting represents upper-class people who use water for their wealth and greed. Inside a shining background, he is lying comfortably in his overflowing tub. The bottom of his feet shows images of factories where dirty water flows down. On the bottom of the painting are the hands of people who are eager for a drop of water, even though it is dirty. Clean water is a basic human right, so I will try to use less water, try not to pollute water, and inform others of how serious this situation is.
