Reflection
This project began with a sense of inner tension as I watched emotional and environmental decay unfold side by side in cities like Lagos - trash piling up, trees dying unnoticed, people carrying burdens they didn’t name. I realized these weren’t just social issues but signs of how far we’ve drifted from nature. Photography became my way to capture these quiet contradictions and confront my own mix of awareness and avoidance. Creating this work helped me process grief, guilt, and responsibility. It taught me that reconnection with nature starts inside by acknowledging what we’ve ignored and the weight we carry. My message to viewers is to look closer: the objects, the poses, the decay are mirrors of our own disconnection. What we turn away from doesn’t disappear, and healing begins the moment we’re willing to face it.
