Peace for the Whales
Leila Smadi
Dedham, MA
2019 Right Whales, Senior, Art (2014 – 2023)
Reflection

The poster consists of three North Atlantic right whales swimming around a peace sign. I got the idea when I began jotting down potential slogans. After some research, I learned that North Atlantic right whales are critically endangered due to human exploitation. Although the whales are being severely affected by humans, they truly deserve peace. Now that I am more aware of how humans affect sea and ocean life, I will always make sure to throw away my trash when I visit the beach, and I hope to spread awareness about the North Atlantic right whales.
