Yo, listen up, I got a story to tell,
Bout’ a place called Pembroke Pines, where we dwell
In the heart of the Sunshine State, where the sun shines bright
But now we’re facing changes, things ain’t feelin’ right.
Climate change knocking on our door,
Temperatures rising, we can’t ignore.
Hurricanes getting stronger, storms on the rise
Pembroke Pines feeling the heat, under clear skies
Pembroke Pines, feeling the heat
Climate change got us dancing to a different beat
Gotta rise up, take a stand
Protect our city, save our land.
It’s not too late to turn the tide,
Come together, let’s take pride.
In Pembroke Pines, our home sweet home,
Let’s fight for it, not face it alone.
So listen up, Pembroke Pines, hear the call,
Climate change impacts us all.
Let’s work together, hand in hand,
To safeguard our city, protect our land.
Reflection
What inspired my work and creative process was my city. It's peaceful place and everyone enjoys living here. I'm interested in the arts because it's fun. It showed me that I can do anything if I put my mind to it. The message I give to viewers of my artwork is that I tried my best and I hope you enjoy it. If I started this project earlier, I would have done a lot better than this poem. I learned that climate change is a big factor in this world. I can promote sustainable practices and support renewable energy initiatives.
