Reflection

This project, that ice cold, wet ocean...no, I am not going to sing it again. However, this project gave my cousins (who were in the back) insight upon plastic pollution in the ocean. At first, I thought it was not such a large problem, but now I realize that plastic pollution is a global issue. The Plastic Pollution Coalition website really inspired me to step forward and address this. I believe that if one is subjected to extremely boring lessons and stuff like that, that person will not truly understand the topic. With that in mind I decided to make some kind of entertainment. Well, why not a parody of a musical hit?

I worked on the lyrics, and with my fabulous cousins I was able to complete the video. I hope this film will inspire people to take action and to realize why plastic pollution is such a problem. This video, to most, is just a fun, creative film. But to others, it is meaningful.

To me, this video is deep (cymbal crash, get it? Oceans are deep) because it expresses deep (again) symbolism and meaning. It shows what plastic pollution is doing and the lyrics, when read, or listened to carefully, explain what can be done and why this problem has occurred.

In a way, this project let me spill out my true feelings on plastic pollution, in a creative way. I hope watchers will enjoy it and learn from it in the way that I have.
