Reflection
For the world to be concerned about an issue, they first must be enlightened; in other words, they must be aware of the problem. For that job, anyone can be enlisted for the role, even those regarded as children. While we grow and reach our adolescent years, we begin to ask questions. They can be as silly as “why…” or they can be as serious as “what will the world be like when I’m your age?” As we mature, the serious questions become more important to us. This is the stage that we are at. We have truly began to mature. We have began to look at our future. Nearly 70% of our earth is ocean, leaving most of this tainted by what have been recognized as the most intellectual creatures on this planet, that being humans. Our discarding of plastic has been the cause of many deaths, to creatures ranging from sea turtles to albatrosses. The question now is how can we get rid of this looming threat before it becomes too strong? Through this contest, we have been given the opportunity to ask our questions to not only our teachers, but the world. Our documentary provided us with a voice and a chance to explain our concerns about the world we will live in.
