Reflection

I currently am in 8th grade at the York Middle School in Maine. I began to find interest in movie making because of how many movies I watched. Whenever a project came up in school, and you had a choice of how you could do the project, I would always choose making a movie. My first movie was a project about North Carolina. It came out better than I thought it would. Here at York Middle School, there is a yearly ‘Trashion Show”. Every student is required to make something out of trash. Many girls made dresses out of trash which looked very cool. I made a movie for the “Trashion Show” which has parts of the movie in this contest’s video. My language arts teacher, Mrs. Baxter, who has a big role in the “Trashion Show” told me to find an inspiration for my movie at the beach. Throughout the movie, I took many days at the beach filming. One day, I went to the beach like normal to film. I found and picked up seven pieces of trash laying on the beach. Much of this trash was plastic. The trash I found made me want to finish the movie and share my vision with others. Being a resident of a coastal town in Maine, forces me to be a responsible citizen. We need to educate people on how bad it is for our Earth and how we can stop this world-wide problem from escalating.
