Reflection
After deciding to enter this Contest, I went online and did some research on the current ecological pollution and permanent damage to the Earth caused by human beings. The reports about melting glaciers and rising sea levels caught my attention, along with pictures of helpless polar bears holding onto small pieces of broken glaciers. The reports brought inspiration to my artwork as I was deeply shocked by the situation. I drew the melting glaciers inside a water bottle, which is connected to the water fountain that a human being is taking water from, using the mug of “ocean.” I also included the poor polar bears that need the glaciers to survive. Through my artwork, I want to emphasize the horrible situation and ask viewers to not only pay attention to, but actually do something, to help solve the problem of rising sea levels.
