Reflection

I love butterflies and moths due to how intricate their designs are. However, I learned that many are becoming extinct due to climate change. Things such as rising climate, pollution, and rising water levels are all things that can affect butterflies and their habitats to be extinct and destroyed. Tim Wong is someone who has made an impact on me, he was able to revive the California pipevine, which is a type of butterfly that was once close to extinction. Tim did so by taking care of 20 butterflies in his backyard, this made me realize that anyone could make an impact on this world and that I can help with the things that I enjoy. I first thought about the composition and the things that I wanted to include from Tim’s’ backyard, where he revived the butterfly and the type of butterfly he revived. I also wanted it to make it look magical, which was why I added the glows. Then, I wanted to show how he single-handedly revived them, so I decided to show that the butterfly flew away from his hands. Tim Wong gave me the confidence that I could do things to help the things I love. Now, I am making a website informing people about all the different species of butterflies, and showcasing the reasons for some becoming extinct.
