Reflection

We are losing ice faster than we ever have. This loss is affecting the world in many ways: sea levels are rising, species are migrating or being lost entirely, and the ocean environment is becoming more hostile to sea creatures. Chinstrap penguins—one of two penguin species shown in my work—are one of many penguin species at the center of Antarctic climate change. According to the Antarctic and Southern Coalition, the number of chinstrap penguins in breeding colonies has dropped significantly since the 1980s. Relocation depicts two penguins leaving the Antarctic while humans swim in the melted remains of icebergs.
