If global warming continues to expand the ocean’s volume, the Earth's sea levels will rise rapidly. Hence, I have shown this in my work by depicting New York with the Statue of Liberty in frame. In comparison to the statue, you can see how the sea level has risen. Along the way, I have come to understand that we don't notice how quickly the water is rising and how much we are damaging the Earth through global warming alone. If we don’t take action now, Earth won’t be a habitable place for humanity and animals in the future. In my artwork, the Statue of Liberty has a single tear rolling down her cheek to show how miserable she feels (and how miserable everyone else may feel) about our lack of action so far. I have also depicted children helping each other out of the mess and scouts looking for help. My title, "Rising for Liberty," means two things: water literally rising for liberty and us rising for liberty.
