Reflection
I was inspired to compose this song while hiking and admiring nature. Since I was a young kid, I was always awed by natural sights, and it was painful for me to hear that much of nature is being affected by climate change. I wanted to raise awareness about this issue while maintaining the hopeful prospect that we will be able to save Earth from the vise of climate change. My song starts out calm and serene, depicting a peaceful landscape where humans and nature live in harmony. Then, Sanguine transitions into a battle and then into the Industrial Revolution. I purposefully used sword and hammer sound effects for these two sections to further convey the mood. Then I wrote a sad section in which nature starts falling out of balance, and the final section has a hopeful melody that inspires the listener to take action. I titled this song "Sanguine" because it means to be optimistic, even in an unfortunate situation. Even though people think of climate change pessimistically, I believe that we can still have a sanguine future.
