Reflection
For Jonathan and me, nature has been a huge part of our lives. The beauty of the world is a part of our daily living, and the more we started to see the nature we loved suffer, the more we knew we had to do something. Sharing this desire, we searched for ways to educate others about marine habitats being slaughtered by the hands of ocean acidification, rising sea temperatures and unsustainable aquaculture, to only name a few. Our message to our viewers is that you are the future. As mentioned in our video, this climate crisis started with humans but will end with us. Jonathan and I have shifted towards being sustainable in our lives, and we invite others to do the same. We bike and use public transport rather than drive, buy clothing of sustainable and ethical production, reject single-use plastics, use digital tools instead of paper, and limit our waste. Jane Goodall once said, “Only if we understand, can we care. Only if we care, we will help. Only if we help, we shall be saved.” From the very bottom of our hearts, Jonathan and I strive to help the world understand and eventually be saved. What gives us hope is you, whoever you are, reading this submission, wanting to help just like we do. It’s everyone around us that is willing to learn more. The song of the Earth is ever playing. We just need to learn how to listen.
