Small Change Big Impact

Project Description: My submission is a website named Small Change Big Impact. I believe that a small change in the way we perform our daily tasks can have a big impact in saving our oceans from climate change. I created this website to spread awareness about climate change and its impact on the oceans, but also with a bit of fun. The website I created integrates art with technology through games, stories, visual art, and writing. I developed three games using code.org. I have designed sprites and backgrounds to make the games more fun and interactive. The stories and visual arts are a fun way to visualize the effects of climate change. The writings on the website give a deeper insight about the different causes and effects of climate change. I have also included lists of what we can do at home, at school, and in your community to help turn climate change around.

Reflection
Reflection

I entered into this contest looking to combine two of my most favorite things in the world - technology and art. At first I thought the only problem the oceans were facing was pollution, but there is so much more. The oceans are experiencing a change of climate, dangerous and toxic chemicals, coral bleaching, and much more. It is scary to see how much they are struggling. Building my website and coding my games, allowed me to have a fun way to share the threats of climate change, and how everyone can help solve the crisis, with a bit of humor. We need to take care of our oceans otherwise we will lose all its species. I believe that making small changes in the way we do our daily tasks will help reverse the effects of climate change on oceans.
