Reflection
I have always been fascinated by how gameplay can involve storytelling and user interaction so I decided to make a game for my submission in the contest. The moral of the game is that it is only when we go out and connect with nature are we driven to care for it. The fact that I was able to put this idea down in the form of a game, that shows the player going out of his room to explore the town and find out about human and environmental efforts to combat climate change, is very fulfilling for me. I love that even through small dialogues the game teaches you a lot of things such as catalytic converts, green roofs, oxybenzone in sunscreen being toxic to corals, sustainable fishing practices such as selective fishing tools including TED (Turtle-excluder devices), mangrove plantation, how corals are adapting to warmer temperature and many more. I researched and learned about all these topics while creating my game so I'm happy that I could inculcate all my findings onto it. I was also very happy and satisfied with my animations in the reef gallery because for me, it resembled real corals quite similarly. I would like to suggest all my viewers that if you played my game and enjoyed it, take it as a practice round and next time, make sure to connect with the nature and do these things in real life to make a change.
