Reflection

This piece depicts a whimsical yet positive take on the future generation's daily life, now in a world underwater due to a lack of progress. In this dystopian yet realistic world, a girl sits alone on a New York City subway, surrounded by an array of endangered fish. The child sits alone, a representation of the modern-day generation of youth who seem to put more pressure on climate change since it will be their future to live in, thus feeling like they are alone in stopping it. Despite this, I portrayed the child smiling to remind us that change can happen. The fish crowd around her as a beacon of hope to rebound from the situation that I hope will never occur in the present day.
