Reflection
“Synapse Jungle” explores the idea of a future where humans, nature, and technology grow together in harmony. The birth of this piece began from observing the small but meaningful efforts humans are making to reconnect with and protect nature. I wanted to capture this hope and progress in a physical form, showing a vision of the future where people, nature, and technology evolve and grow together. My artwork was built on a board made of recycled computer parts, with a large head sculpture of myself at the center. The head is sinking into a digital jungle, surrounded by tangled wire vines and leaves that grow around it. It is as if a dead animal decays in the wild, being decomposed so that new life can begin. The head represents human awareness, while the anthropogenic jungle shows how our inventions and the natural world can intertwine in positive ways. I was inspired by moments where I saw people working to reduce pollution, restore coral reefs, and rethink how we use technology. These efforts may seem small, but they matter. Technology is one of humanity's greatest accomplishments, and today, many are beginning to use it to restore rather than harm. However, people often exclude themselves from nature even though they are a part of it. By combining materials from machines and the ocean, I wanted to show a possible future where this connection is healed. Through this project, I learned that creativity can be a tool for change. My message is that even small actions can create new pathways. If we look closely and care deeply, both inside ourselves and outside in the world, we can build a future where we live in balance with nature.
