Reflection

As a child, I was always intuitive with sea life. So my main concern was over how much we would pollute our oceans especially with plastic. That is why I created a piece of coral that is polluted by plastic. The reason why I created a piece of coral is because the coral reef is the most important aspect of life especially to life on land not just the sea. Coral is the most important thing in the ocean and it is our duty to inform the public its value.

I created my coral piece from stoneware by coil constructing the coral foundation and than using a hard brush to create texture on the surface of the vase. I than pit fired the piece , I than stained the piece with red india ink and colored the piece with red crayon , and I added wire than melted plastic over the wire and the top of the vase.
