Project Description: When my teacher introduced me to Andrés Ruzo’s TED Talk, “The Boiling River of the Amazon,” I didn’t know the adventure I was getting myself into! Our story takes us back to when Andrés Ruzo was a young boy in Peru. His grandfather told him a story that gave him a quest to do. Did you know in the Amazon there’s a secret boiling river? Now let me tell you a tale that will make you quiver. So begins 11-year-old Lucas’ “The Case of the Mysterious Boiling River,” a poetic ode to following your curiosity so we can discover how to solve the problems we humans have made. For this, I made an illustrated poem, an audio recording, a movie, and more is to come!
