Many elements have inspired my work and the ideas I’ve decided to include in my creation. Looking through the internet I was able to study many environmental artists. It is fascinating to see how one simple drawing can present such strong ideas. Also, living in a hometown that is surrounded by water has made me realize that we need to be more considerate of our oceans. My hometown depends on the ocean and the food it provides for us, such as lobster and seafood. I believe that this has made me appreciate the project even more. While creating my art piece, I realized that we often forget to be thankful for everything the earth gave us. I feel very sorry for the earth and other animals. When I read articles or see images of what is happening to our earth, I feel remorse. Creating this project has made me realize the severity of the issue. In my drawing, I included many plastic bottles and trash at the bottom of the ocean to show the consequences of our actions. The bright yellow signs that are rising above the plastic are the actions that we need to take, such as recycling, planting more trees and trying to produce less CO2. Simple changes make a big difference. I hope to influence people to make better decisions. I also aspire to make little changes and take part in saving our planet before it is too late.
