Project Description: A major problem in the current world is that glaciers reflect most of the heat transmitted by the sun, keeping our Earth cool. However, as global warming comes in, the rise in temperature causes the glaciers to melt, which would only increase the rate of global warming. This project aims to point out how our daily, small actions could contribute to the cause of glacier melting. I’ve created a necklace linked to an app to remind people of their actions, where if they are doing high-carbon things, the necklace slowly loses its color, showing the idea that “beauty takes hard work to keep”. In the project, there is a necklace linked to an app. The app would monitor how you travel, like if you took the train or the airplane by a code included on the app. The app would contain a QR code to scan and use the subway and others. It would have some in-app points for you to use, and get potential discounts to attract the audience. By doing so, if you’ve consumed large amounts of carbon emissions, your data would show your footprint, and reflect on the necklace. The necklace would slowly lose its color as time goes on as you consume more carbon emissions.

A design process collage showcasing ideation phases with sketches, color studies, and final product drawings featuring a bio-color-changing metallic product influenced by temperature. Infographic with survey results and a design concept. Survey includes opinions on air quality influencing behavior. The design concept outlines a wearable device to remind people of their actions' effects. Infographic titled "Eye of Future" illustrating factors in climate change, including technology, coal, methane from livestock, and CO2 emissions, with images of glaciers, factories, and transport.
