Reflection

In the past thirty years, the economy in my hometown has heavily relied on fishing. Therefore, numerous ships were made for fishing, causing a disruption in marine ecology and a shortage in fishery resource. In order to restore the marine biology, the government enacted a new policy: fishing off season. The fishing off season is a period that catching is prohibited from April to September. During this period, many fishermen are also seeking transformation, such as cultivation instead of catching. My first picture is a fisherman who did not get enough fish but had to get back to harbor before the storm. Those fishermen spent their life on the sea, and they know the peaceful and fickle sea as their home. When I was on the boat with them, the captain told me that the storm came more frequently and caused more damage due to the rising sea level from global warming. Those experienced marine dwellers can read the omen of the sea. On the way back to harbor, the weather already turned unfavorable, and they could not hide their concerns from their faces. This was the time I caught my first shot. After then, when I was leaving the harbor, I found a gigantic wave launching toward land. The wave scared me even I was in a distance. After the first shock, I took out my camera and captured this moment.
