Reflection
The Hands of Activists is a piece inspired by Water Pollution. As the world starts changing with climate and urbanization, not only plants and animals, but oceans begin to change as well, and not for the better. The activist movement represents positive change in the natural world. Putting the past behind, the hands of activists work to make a better future. I tried to represent this through the wildfire in the background and the hands of the activists knitting an oasis, or the future hope. I wanted to add a lot of unique but also opposing colors to show the unique theme and opposing scenery. I wanted to make the piece beautiful (as my abilities allowed) because I wanted to show the beauty of hope for a better future and hard work. Just as I’ve tried my best to educate myself on this topic and then reflect the beauty of the activist movement’s ideas, the activists work hard to create a better world for all living things and we all should be a part of it.
