Reflection

My passion for music and art deeply inspired my work and creative process. It led me to create an art piece about Lola Perrin, a London-based American composer & pianist who set up the ClimateKeys organization so people could appeal for climate change and global warming through music in concerts. I painted Lola Perrin and the trash dump in the background to represent our polluted environment. White musical notes that flow from Lola Perrin's piano stand for actions that guide us to achieve a restored nature. During the creation and research process, I realized the significance of climate change, and why we must take action. Global warming will cause serious alterations to the environment, including the rise of sea levels, posing threats to biodiversity, and eventually impacting human health. The carbon dioxide we create through energy production is killing the earth we've lived on for several hundred thousand years. Our corruption has led our home to grave peril. Thus I aspire to abate the issue by influencing the audience of my art to learn more about climate action and hopefully spread awareness, as the small attempts of every one of us are what truly counts. I hope to communicate the message of cleansing our environment and advertising climate action through this piece, just as Lola Perrin did with her music.
