Reflection
The meaning behind my artwork is that excessive pollution, including that generated by factories depicted in the drawing, is causing harm to animals due to oil spills from various sources. However, there are people present in the drawing who are there to help. I chose to create this artwork because while ocean pollution is a constant issue, oil spills have an immediate and devastating impact on marine life. Having learned about the severity of oil spills, I decided to depict one in my drawing to emphasize that ocean pollution extends beyond litter. The factory symbolizes the general pollution being dumped into the ocean, while the animals represent the suffering creatures affected by our actions. The invisible-caped heroes represent those who are working to protect the ocean, often without recognition. The presence of only a few individuals signifies that not many people realize the harm they are causing and only a minority actively contribute to helping. It's crucial to recognize that these endangered ocean animals are not the only ones at risk. Many more are being killed because we, as humans, are not taking action. Pollution and oil spills are just a fraction of the threats slowly killing these animals. In my drawing, I included an otter, a turtle, and a pelican as examples of animals affected by oil spills and pollution. All of these animals require rescuing. However, it's important to approach their rescue with the necessary knowledge and skills. The individuals who choose to rescue these animals are hidden heroes, displaying qualities such as kindness, gentleness, care, determination, and more, even if their capes go unrecognized.
