I created this piece of artwork because I really care about the well-being of all animals, especially endangered ones. I used watercolors and outlining pens to create the borders and colors. In my piece, the symbolism of the whales being endangered is in the empty whale outlines. They are supposed to represent the whales of the past that have gone missing, and that the remaining ones are all alone. I have learned through my N.A.R.W. (North Atlantic right whales) research that they are called "right whales" because of how good and easy they were to hunt, but now they are endangered because they have been over-hunted. I will personally take responsibility now to do as much as I can to raise awareness for these gentle creatures. Saving the right whales is the right thing to do.
