Reflection
For my art piece, I decided to write and compose a song. I decided on a song because I have been playing music for six years, and I believe that music is essential to everyone's life whether or not you're a musician. It is a universal language that everyone on earth can identify with. I tried to make the song catchy and lighthearted so that it stuck in your head, and cute enough so that it didn't make you feel bad about yourself. I used a common four chord pattern (major tonic, major 5 chord, minor 4 chord, major 4 chord) used in many popular songs in order to insure a familiar aura for listeners. I also wrote in a major quality and played common instruments. I played guitar and piano, which I taught myself how to play specifically for this occasion. I didn't pay too much attention to how well the singers sang the piece because a choir composed entirely of plastics won't necessarily sound pleasant. I had never written a song before, but I can't think of a better topic to write about than plastic pollution.
