The advancement of modern technology has led to the construction of more tall buildings, making cities more prosperous and bustling with a greater flow of people. Greening is an indispensable part of life, playing an essential role in purifying the air and enhancing aesthetic appeal. However, in urbanized areas, the greenery is decreasing, and the excessive number of vehicles and people has caused traffic congestion and more emissions of greenhouse gases in the cities. This also led to serious pollution problems. I want to express the importance of green spaces in my artwork. The idea came to my mind from my experience in making a sustainable garden in our school. My school is located in an urban area with a lot of carbon emissions. Glowing plants and flowers help to reflash the air and create a better environment. I used pens, watercolor to create the towering buildings and busy roundabout, and collage to create the colorful tree in my mixed media artwork. Pens and subtle colors give the cityscape a sense of weight and solidity. I used magazines to make the tree, which creates a sense of vitality. The cityscape and traffic in the roundabout contrast sharply with the massive tree in the middle of the canvas. In my artwork, I'm watering this colorful and splendid tree inside the huge roundabout. The tree represents life, nature, and vitality. Growing trees can make a better urban environment and bring more vitality into the plant-less city.
