With the evolving world and environment, it’s only a matter of time before everyone is impacted. While some people experience over-flooding, other cases suffer severe droughts and harsh weather. Currently in the midst of a drought, the city of Las Vegas suffers from the effects of climate change. Our water source, Lake Mead, runs dry, resulting in cracks on the ground, trees, and buildings. Soon, our beloved city will fall apart. My drawing represents the reality of our situation. The main symptoms of a severe drought are cracks forming on plants and buildings, a decrease in the animal population, and an enormous shortage of water, as shown in the painting. Our future generations have to face this problem. Our children will cry like the one shown, and they will run out of time just like the child reflected on the face of the timer. Time has run out and there will soon be dead animal remains, building ruins, and the city of Las Vegas gone. Determined to make change, I took part in this program while expanding my knowledge of climate change and learning the truth of what we’re facing. This experience has truly opened my eyes and I hope to work towards making a bright future for our planet.
