Reflection

In the process of making this visual art piece, I was inspired to take the creative aspect of using my voice in combination with my partner’s voice to create a story that brings light to the problems that our land and the ocean faces due to climate change. I started off with coming up with an idea of what problems we were going to address in our art piece which were coral bleaching and rising sea level and trying to figure out how to incorporate both our words to a broader message of trying to take care of our ocean. While this may have been one of my main ideas, through the process of brainstorming and changing the lines with my partner, we both found that the land and the ocean are both majorly affected by this crisis. Through the process of creating such a work, I felt empowered by my partner to think of better ways to write a sentence and excited to mold our words into writing that can in turn inspire other people to take action.
