Treasure of the Blue Planet, Ocean

Reflection

What a beautiful mysterious ocean with so many different colors and shapes! We're all connected to such a beautiful ocean. The Earth is a blue planet with more than 70% of its surface ocean. Our blue planet needs our awareness and protection more than ever. Saving the ocean is a very important factor in overcoming the climate crisis. The amount of oxygen that the ocean produces through photosynthetic plankton is enormous. Not only does it provide the oxygen that sea creatures need to live, but it also allows land animals and us humans to live and breath. In short, the ocean can help transform global warming. I chose watercolors for my piece to express the mystique of the ocean and combined colorful colors to capture its beauty. Then, I depicted our various efforts to protect the sea through the plastic disposable water bottles and the recycling symbol. When the beautiful oceanic fairy at the bottom of my piece spews oxygen, many sea creatures are alive and breathing inside the oxygen bubble. When our ocean comes back to life, so will our blue planet, and we will be able to enjoy being with the beautiful nature.
