Underwater Grocery Shopping

Reflection

For my artwork, I was inspired by my surroundings in Seoul and the everyday lives of fellow citizens; I imagined what our world would look like if the sea level rise continues and water levels touch the sky. I also found it strange how even though we make certain efforts to conserve the environment, our habitat is suffering and continues to worsen over time. To capture this humorously tragic situation, my artwork is about a well-equipped family returning home from grocery shopping in a city submerged underwater. The message is clear: if we do not resolve the self-destructive problems that cause global warming, then we will live with the consequences.
