Reflection
At our local stores, we see literally hundreds of items to make their lives easier such as individually wrapped snacks, plastic baggies to store sandwiches for lunch, unbreakable soda bottles, and disposable razors, and toys. Although when we dispose of these items irresponsibly the trash and filth creates choking hazards and pollution issues for our marine life. Day by day, seagulls, fish, and other sea mammals are found dead or injured by the plastic “minefield” we create through the irresponsible disposal of these plastic materials. It is surprising at times to see what we find at our local beaches and oceans and it comes to show the reality of how severe this issue is to our generation as well as generations to come. This earth we live in is not ours to take deprive of its animal life; it is our responsibility to nourish it and cherish it any way we can even just by simply choosing the right location to dispose of your plastic trash. The purpose of this artwork is to wake up the people of this nation and if possible foreign ones as well so that we may comprehend the drastic issue of plastic pollution. Life on this earth is precious; we cannot stand back and watch as the plastic outbreak steals the lives of many innocent sea creatures. The person in white clothing in the drawing represents our resolution to our problem, it will come, there will be justice for our ocean, and all will be new. This is not our permanent home, we are guests and need to treat this earth the way we want our homes to be treated by guests…with respect. Future generations will thank us for our effort.
