Reflection

2023 was the year with the most recorded billion dollars weather events, according to the NOOA National Centers for Environmental Information 2024. And the Global Mean Surface Temperature (GMST) has increased from the atmospheric accumulation of greenhouse gasses (GHG.) This Summer, me and my family are experiencing constant storms and tornado warnings, and scorching hot afternoons that reach one hundred Degrees Fahrenheit. Many in my community and even a few of my friends told me that they have lost hope in fixing our climate. It is hard not to give in to defeat as a young generation who feel like the world is falling apart, but I want with my artwork to tell a different story. One filled with hope that we take the place of our parents and guardians and fight this war against climate change together. I have always been an artist. I express my mind and soul through art through a wide array of mediums such as comics, animation, storytelling, design, and Video Game Development. I want with my professional legacy to teach and sharpen the nation’s needed pro-environment values. In my artwork, the main characters are personifications of renewable and clean energy fighting off fossil fuels and pollution as a team, helping the land and sea to heal and thrive. These heroes show us how in the face of the daunting task that is climate change, we can be as brave and courageous as these comic book heroes, and that we have the power as well to change our climate story.
