What They Should Have Told Us

I believe that there have been times when we have been told the wrong things about climate change, or nothing at all, through media, which is incredibly harmful because the media is so influential. It is essential to know where you are getting your information from and whether it is reliable or not. I created this fake, old fashioned TV to replicate how media spread and how it still spreads. It is a shame that ocean awareness was not brought to light through these technologies sooner. I created my film using old wood, cardboard boxes, knitting needles, and taking apart the old plastic piano that I had found in the basement, determined not to buy anything if I could help it. It frustrates me when I hear people in power on TV talking about the climate and getting it wrong; there is a massive disinformation campaign to confuse the public into climate change disillusionment. I now feel more than ever that every person who feels passionately about our climate, about the health of ocean animals, about the stability of humanity in the future, should spread their message.
