Reflection
Reflection

A 2013 photo of my family beside a "Brown is the New Green" sign during California's drought became a stark reminder of our environmental challenges. Determined to make a difference, I joined the EarthWatch Girls in Science program, restoring Sierra Nevada meadows crucial for water supply. Witnessing the devastating effects of drought in California, particularly the impact on our water supply and ecosystems, was deeply inspiring. The EarthWatch program opened my eyes to the power of data-driven solutions, and I felt compelled to explore how technology like AI could help us anticipate and mitigate these challenges. My message is that climate change is a real and present threat, but we have the power to create solutions. By embracing innovation and working together, we can build a more sustainable future.
